I've so enjoyed working with and knowing Gene since around 1978 when I started working in the Physics department, before we were CASS. Gene always and I mean always had a smile on his face no matter how busy he was and always took time to answer my many questions. I would have loved to be a student in one of his classes. He showed so much enthusiasm for teaching. On a side note I recall the Grudge baseball games (think that's what it was called) that Gene organized in the early years of CASS. I grew up on a culdasack playing baseball with the boys so this was right up my alley. I remember the Burbidges playing too. I know someday Gene we'll continue our baseball games.
